Construction of the final Waterburchten at Suytkade officially begins

With a symbolic kick-off – the smashing of bottles against a wall on the Suytkade – the construction of the final three Waterburchten in Helmond's Suytkade district has officially begun. This development will add another 231 apartments, bringing the district closer to completion.

A special part of the project is that one of the Waterburgs will be realised entirely for people over 55. This building will house 120 Habion social rental flats, aimed at independent living with space for meeting and mutual involvement. The concept is not about care, but about a community-centred living environment. As Habion aptly puts it: “If you want to live, you must be willing to do something for others.”

The development of the final phase of Suytkade is in the hands of Cedrus Vastgoed Ontwikkeling BV. Developer Robert Hellings is working with various involved parties to realise this project.

The start of construction also marks a special moment for the partners involved. During this occasion, we remembered the deceased business partner Frank van de Kam of vb&t Groep. He played an important role in bringing parties together and laying the groundwork for the collaboration on this project.

The realisation of this phase therefore feels not only like a new step in the development of Suytkade, but also as a tribute to its unifying power.
